how do i restore my windows 8 to one month ago - Microsoft Community - What’s the best free data recovery software for Windows 8/8.1?
I want to restore my system because it has been acting strangely due to attempting to download some drivers. I go to Start-This computer-Properties-system protection-create. However it asks me to name a restore point, but this does not seem to restore to to the point I want to, only the curent date. Was this reply helpful? Yes No.
Sorry this didn't help. From Control Panel I do not have "Restore". More importantly, in "System files and settings" I do not have the two restore options your screen shot shows, as you will see from my screen shot.
This is a licensed version bought from online from Microsoftstore China, which I understand is a simplified version originally only in Chinese which forced us to download an English language pack. What happens when you click on the Next box of the System Restore window? Do you see the system restore points if created? Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.

I hope you are aware that, if in case the system restore is turn off the restore points gets deleted that may be the reason. I would suggest you to check the disk space allotted to restore points. If very less space is allotted to store restore points, then it will automatically delete the old restore points.

Shenan Stanley. Once System Protection is turned off, all Restore Points are removed and without a good backup anyway not recoverable. Turning it back on just starts things over from that point forward. This site in other languages x.
